Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb toured major tourist attractions in the cities of Riyadh and Diriyah as part of a winter journey showcasing prominent events, activities, and destinations under the Saudi Winter program themed “Winter in Alive.”
The winter tour included visits to six destinations, beginning with “Al-Dirah Winter” in Moaiqliah district in central Riyadh, followed by Boulevard City, where the minister experienced the “Flying Over Saudi” attraction, one of the latest events of Riyadh Season. The tour then moved to Diriyah and its distinctive winter nights, including a visit to “Hal Al-Qusoor” in the historic At-Turaif district, offering an immersive experience into the palaces of imams and princes who contributed to Diriyah’s prominence during the First Saudi State.
The tour continued with the inauguration of “Al-Huwayett” in the heart of the historic Adhwaihrah district, known for its cultural and educational significance in the past, before heading to “Layali Al-Diriyah,” a core component of Diriyah Season. The event offers a captivating experience set amid a historic palm oasis surrounding the At-Turaif district, blending fine dining, live music, illuminated art, and retail outlets in an atmosphere that harmonizes authenticity and heritage with a contemporary touch.
The minister concluded the tour at “Minzal,” a site that reflects the natural landscape and rock formations of Wadi Hanifah’s ravines, providing cultural experiences through which visitors explore the worlds of equestrianism, falconry, and archery.
